TextureScape Studio

Based in San Francisco Bay Area, California, TextureScape Studio is a living project dedicated to the tactile language of art. It was created with a simple intention: to bring the textures, rhythms, and quiet power of the natural world—alongside the timeless traditions of heritage and craftsmanship—into the spaces we inhabit.

Each collection is a dialogue between material and memory. Drawing inspiration from wood carving, clay pottery, and other artisanal practices passed down through generations, TextureScape reimagines these traditions through a contemporary lens. The result is art that feels both rooted in history and alive in the present—designed not only to be seen, but to be felt.

About the Artist

I’m Alla Anew, the founder and creative force behind TextureScape Studio. My artistic journey has always been guided by respect—for nature, for craft, and for the heritage of making by hand. I am deeply inspired by the way wood carving and clay pottery hold centuries of human touch within them—stories etched into surfaces, vessels shaped with patience and care.

These traditions remind me that art is more than expression; it is connection. Collectors often tell me my work feels like a memory they can’t quite place—something familiar, yet transformed. That is what I strive for: creating pieces that resonate personally, spark reflection, and bring a sense of presence into the spaces they inhabit.

Process & Inspiration

My process is both intuitive and intentional. I begin with texture—layering natural pigments, acrylic paint, texture paste, and mixed media in ways that honor the spirit of craft traditions like pottery and carving, while leaving room for experimentation and flow. Inspiration comes from the organic lines of landscapes, the play of light, and the tactile depth of materials shaped by human hands for centuries.

Each artwork is dimensional, layered, and tactile—meant to draw you closer, inviting touch as much as vision. For collectors, this means no two pieces are ever alike. Each one carries the resonance of heritage techniques and the imprint of its making, blending the grounding wisdom of tradition with a contemporary sensibility.

TextureScape is my way of translating emotional landscapes into lasting, physical form—art that you don’t just look at, but live with.
