Artisan Treasures
The Artisan Treasures collection began with a deep admiration for craftsmanship—particularly ceramics and woodworking. I found myself drawn to the timeless beauty of handcrafted vases, bowls, and baskets, imagining them as part of my own curated collection. Staring at the empty walls of my hallway, I envisioned shelves built into the space, each one carefully displaying an object of admiration. This thought became the foundation of my latest work.
The collection plays with depth and perspective, inviting the viewer to experience these handcrafted forms from different angles—some directly facing forward, others partially concealed within the niches of imagined shelves. By leaving the architectural elements loosely defined, I shift the focus entirely to the objects themselves, allowing them to take center stage.
To deepen my connection with the subject, I immersed myself in the world of ceramics, studying the work of master artisans and even taking pottery classes. What struck me most was the patience required in the process—shaping, drying, carving, firing, decorating, glazing, and polishing—all before a piece is truly complete. The process demands both precision and surrender, as so much can change along the way. It’s a lesson in letting go, in trusting the unknown.
Beyond technique, this project opened a door to history—exploring the origins of ceramics, their cultural significance, and the endless variations in form and craftsmanship. It’s a journey of discovery, one I hope to share with you through this collection—a celebration of timeless artistry and the human touch behind every handmade object.
Artisan Treasures is more than a collection; it is an exploration of craft, patience, and the timeless beauty of handmade objects. I invite you to step into this world, where art and craftsmanship come together to transform space.
